Overview

Shadow (“we”, “us”) builds an understanding layer for SaaS products — a capture SDK and the product lines built on top of it. This page describes what data we collect, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Data we collect

• Account data: email, name, organization name, Stripe customer id.
• Product telemetry: page views and feature usage within the Shadow dashboard.
• Capture data: DOM snapshots, screenshots, and interaction events from websites where your admins install the SDK. PII redaction rules are applied before any data leaves the browser.
• Rendered videos: the MP4 outputs you generate, stored in your workspace.

How we use it

Capture data is used exclusively to generate the tutorial videos you ask for. We never train foundation models on your captures, and we never share them with third parties except:

• LLM inference providers, for labelling screens and drafting narration scripts against your prompt.
• Text-to-speech providers, for rendering voiceover audio.
• Payment processors, for billing.

Each of these providers has its own privacy posture, and we use API endpoints that disable retention and training where the provider supports it.

Retention

Captures expire after 90 days by default. Rendered videos and published tutorials are kept for the lifetime of your subscription plus 30 days.

Your rights

You can export or delete any workspace data at any time from the dashboard, or by emailing hello@byshadow.ai. We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and the UK GDPR.
